Pi day

This past Monday was pi day. So of course I had to make pie. I didn't have a whole lot of time, so I used premade shells. I did a pecan pie (of course) and a lemon meringue pie (first time).

They both turned out very nicely, and I was able to share with friends. I even went and worked at the office for the first time in 2 years so I could share there too.
It was delicious (if I do say so myself)!

On Vacation

I am taking a week of vacation time at work. It feels a little weird since I can't go anywhere or do anything away from my house. And things haven't quite gone as planned: my ereader won't recognize the library book I've been waiting a few months for, I didn't have all the supplies I thought I had for the sewing project I got out to make (and I can't go to the store), the time has gone way too fast - haven't felt like I've had enough time vegging in front of the tv. But I still have managed to have a nice time.

The weather has been lovely and people's gardens are in full force, which I have been enjoying on my walks.

Spent some time doing some cooking (and deliveries for sharing).

Homemade pierogies

Lots of time on the deck reading and watching baseball and working on my new puzzle.

And I will be finishing it off with a quilt challenge weekend.

Happy Pi(e) Day

Yesterday I made 3 pies and this morning I made one more in honour of pi day.

I made pecan and chocolate chip pie, which is what I usually do every pie day to take to work. Plus I made a sugar pie and a flapper pie. Both of those were new to me to make and even to taste. As you might be able to tell from the list, I prefer a non-traditional pie. Fruit pie is generally at the bottom of my pie list

Then I spent the afternoon assembling packages (with help from past takeout orders and my new cricut machine 😀😀😀)

And doing pie deliveries.

8 different families/individuals benefited from my pie day baking 😀.
